5 of the Priciest Football Commercials

by ,

When the big game goes to commercial, we know you aren’t tuning out! Everyone is anticipating the funniest, and most pricey, football ads of the year. Here are five of the most extravagant and costly commercials so far, from least expensive to most expensive:

5. Budweiser (2010)

Cost: $5.8 Million

In this one-minute video, a whole town drops everything to help a Budweiser delivery truck get across a ravine in a rather unorthodox way. Budweiser is no stranger to football ads, and has raised the bar in recent years, as you will see later in this list.

4. Taco Bell (2013)

Cost: $7.6 Million

A group of elderly people bust their friend out of a retirement home for a crazy night of partying, causing trouble and, of course, Taco Bell. This video features a Spanish version of the song “We Are Young” by F.U.N.

3. Jaguar (2014)

Cost: $8 Million

This commercial features actors Tom Hiddleston, Sir Ben Kingsley, and Mark Strong, who play villains in various movies. They explain why Brits are often chosen for the evil roles and how it’s “good to be bad,” while showcasing the Jaguar F-type Coup.

2. Bud Light (2014)

Cost: $12 Million

This one-and-a-half-minute long ad has to be seen to believe. A random guy, named Ian, is offered a Bud Light in exchange for being “up for whatever happens next.” He doesn’t know that he is about to have the night of his life while being secretly filmed. The night starts off with a limo ride DJed by Reggie Watts and ends with Ian beating Arnold Schwarzenegger at table tennis and being pushed onto the stage of a OneRepublic concert. Best night ever.

1. Chrysler (2011)

Cost: $12.4 Million

The most expensive football commercial to date is this Chrysler ad. Filmed in Michigan, this two-minute video features shots of Detroit with a voice talking about why the city is great. Eminem makes an appearance and finishes the video by simply stating, “This is the Motor City. And this is what we do.”
