Blooming Into Spring at the La Conner Daffodil Festival!
Posted by Andie Lofgren
It's Andie, one of the Swinomish Casino & Lodge Digital Marketing Assistants, and as a spring baby, I'm excited to share some blooming news!
With fields full of yellow and the fresh crisp spring air rolling in, what a great time to stay with us here at the lodge and enjoy a beautiful drive through Skagit County. This year, La Conner is putting on their 4th Annual La Conner Daffodil Festival.
As a true local to the area, I have been able to enjoy the daffodils and tulips bloom every year, and it never gets old. If anything, my appreciation for the flowers grows more and more every year and the events that are being produced keep getting better.
Events during this time include:
- 53rd Annual Smelt Derby
- The Grapes of Daff
- The Dandy Daffodil Tweed Ride
- A photo contest
- & Month long availability of daffodils to purchase!
For more information on these events, check out this link!
To check out what fields are in bloom, this Bloom Map is updated daily for your convience!
If you're anything like me, I am ready for spring to come. There's nothing quite like being able to enjoy the views of the Puget Sound from our very own lodge but the Skagit Valley is lucky enough to hold many beautiful horizons past the ocean, including Mt. Baker and the beautiful flourishing fields of flowers!
Also, be sure to come into the casino to participate in another episode of Swin Smarts Trivia with me as the host on March 5! The first trivia is all on daffodils and tulips to help you get ready for spring! If you think you have a green thumb and are full of flower facts, stop by between 1pm-3pm to sign up for the show and win some fun prizes!
