This year, we are celebrating 36 years of Swinomish Casino & Lodge! We first opened our doors in 1985 as a small bingo hall, committed to providing guests with friendly fun and entertainment.

“I never could have imagined how amazing it would grow,” Table Games Manager Myrtle Rivas reflected. A member of the Swinomish Tribe, Rivas has worked here since the bingo hall first opened. “I remember when it was just the bingo hall. Looked like a big old warehouse from the bridge.”

We’ve gone through many evolutions since those early days. After five years of running a successful bingo hall, we began negotiations for a gaming license in 1990. Swinomish Casino officially opened in 1994, and we became Swinomish Casino & Lodge in 2012. “I literally grew up with this business,” Rivas said. “When it grew, I grew.”

Though we have grown significantly over the past 36 years, our humble roots are never far from our minds and hearts. “We strive to honor the original vision of the Swinomish Tribe as we continue to grow,” Brock Hochsprung, current CEO of Swinomish Casino & Lodge, said.

“I am just truly blessed to be a part of this organization, grow with it, and be a member of the Swinomish Tribe,” Rivas added.
