There wasn’t a single empty or unsatisfied stomach at the latest Meet the Chef event with 13moons Chef, Daniel Van Norman. Guests were greeted with appetizers of Parmigiano Reggiano and prosciutto toasts with a balsamic glaze & shrimp with clementine chipotle cocktail sauce from Bellingham Whole Foods Market. Spirits were high and everyone was excited as Chef Van Norman began by introducing the menu for the night:
A Truffle Dungeness Crab Mac & Cheese.
Followed by a Strawberry Champagne Sorbet to cleanse the palette.
The main course of Filet Mignon with a Rougue River Blue Cheese on top of Yukon Potatoes fried in Duck Butter and roasted Asparagus.
Finished with a White Chocolate Mousse with Brandied Cherries.
With each course more delicious than the last, choosing a favorite was very difficult. Luckily Chef Van Norman took us through how to prepare each dish and provided helpful tips and tricks throughout the night so we could recreate it at home.
